The LAG T88ACE is a beautifully-finished Auditorium cutaway electro-acoustic guitar from this resurgent French brand. Lag point to a transformation in their overall quality thanks to the input of French master luthier Maurice Dupont since 2016, and we'd have to agree. WeâÃÂÃÂve been really impressed with the new guitars weâÃÂÃÂve received from Lag, and this one is no exception. The high gloss finish gives it a really classy look. The outermost edge of the soundboard doubles as wood binding thanks to a separating black strip - a unique look which ties in with other Lag styling cues such as the headstock, bridge and elliptical rosette. Satin black hardware and black graphite nut / saddle produce further enhance the refined aesthetic.
The T88ACEâÃÂÃÂs bigger Auditorium body produces more focused tone than a dreadnought thanks to the more pinched waste, yet with plenty of projection. Its tonal signature is defined by the solid Engelmann Spruce soundboard - bright and with plenty of attack, balanced out by the Khaya back and sides.
The LAG T88ACE is fitted with LagâÃÂÃÂs Stage-Lag Preamp. This sophisticated system includes a 3-band EQ with mid frequency fine tuning knob. A notch control allows you to eliminate any feedback-causing frequencies, and you can also set the phase for your venue. A tuner is included, as well as a battery warning light for when the battery is running low.
